NASHVILLE, Tenn. – March 5, 2024 – Weeks after announcing uBreakiFix by Asurion as the first Xbox Authorized Service Provider, Microsoft and uBreakiFix by Asurion are expanding their partnership to include walk-in repair support for Surface. Customers can now bring in-warranty Surface devices to uBreakiFix by Asurion stores for Microsoft-backed repair service.

uBreakiFix by Asurion stores’ certified repair technicians use original parts, tools, and training direct from Microsoft to service any Surface still within the manufacturer’s warranty period. Customers can opt for Microsoft-genuine parts for out-of-warranty repairs, too, pending part availability. Store technicians can fix nearly any issue, from damaged screens and keyboards to ailing batteries or storage drives. Surface customers can schedule a repair appointment online or simply drop off their device without an appointment at participating uBreakiFix by Asurion stores nationwide.*

More Access, More Choice

This partnership marks a significant step forward in making consumer tech repair more convenient and accessible. With a majority of Americans located within 10 miles of a uBreakiFix by Asurion store, consumers can get the repair support they need, when they need it, without having to compromise on quality or turnaround time. Direct access to Microsoft parts, combined with Asurion’s best-in-class supply chain planning, enables uBreakiFix by Asurion stores to deliver speed at scale. Most Surface repairs can be completed within a few days.

“Bringing in-warranty support to people’s backyards opens up a world of convenience for customers who need help fast but don’t want to void their warranty,” said Dave Barbuto, CEO of uBreakiFix by Asurion. “Surface customers who visit our stores can have peace of mind knowing their devices are being repaired by trained experts, using high quality parts, in accordance with the manufacturer’s standards. We’re excited for these customers to have more choice in how to deal with a broken laptop or tablet, and we’re confident that expanding repair support will only improve how customers experience their favorite Surface devices.”

For the Good of the Planet

One of the best ways to combat e-waste – one of the fastest growing toxic waste streams – is to keep electronics in use as long as possible. Expanding access to reliable, convenient repair options promotes device longevity, which not only helps consumers get the most out of their tech investments but also helps keep devices out of landfills.

“At uBreakiFix by Asurion, we believe in repair as a favorable option for both people and the planet,” Barbuto said. “As repair options continue to expand, our hope is that it becomes second nature for consumers to seek out repair as their first line of defense when something goes wrong. We don’t want anyone to replace a device unnecessarily, simply because they feel it’s their only option. Microsoft shares that ethos, and we’re thrilled to work together to help people enjoy their devices as long as possible.” For more information or to book a service appointment, visit ubreakifix.com.
