When to shut down your Apple Vision Pro

It's good practice to turn off your Apple Vision Pro if you will be using it briefly. This saves battery life and reduces wear on the hardware. It's also wise to consider a complete shutdown if your device is acting sluggish or if you've installed new software.

There are several ways to do it:

  • Press and hold the top button and the Digital Crown, then drag the slider.
  • Go to Settings> General> Shut Down, then drag the slider.
  • Say, "Siri, turn off my Apple Vision Pro."
  • Take off your Apple Vision Pro, place it on a secure surface (like a table or desk), and then disconnect the power cable from the Audio Strap.

When to restart your Apple Vision Pro

Restarting your Apple Vision Pro can solve many performance issues like frozen or faulty apps. It's a quick fix to refresh your device's operating system without doing a complete shutdown.

How to force restart your Apple Vision Pro

  1. Press and hold the top button and the Digital Crown until the displays turn black (keep holding even when the Force Quit Applications window and the power slider appear). You can take off the Apple Vision Pro while it restarts.
  2. While the Apple Vision Pro restarts, the Apple logo appears on the front display. If you don't see the Apple logo, you may need to press and hold the top button for a few seconds until it appears.
