4 ways to reset a JBL speaker

JBL has many models, so which method works for your speaker may vary. Don’t get discouraged if one of the methods doesn’t reset your device; simply try the next one until you find the right fit.

Method 1: Holding the mute button

This method is straightforward and works on many JBL speaker models.

  1. Turn the speaker on.
  2. Press and hold the Mute button for about 10-15 seconds.
  3. Wait for the speaker to turn off and back on.

Method 2: Holding the Volume Down and Power buttons

  1. Turn off your JBL speaker.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Down and Power button simultaneously. Hold for 10-15 seconds until the device powers off and back on.

Method 3: Holding the Volume Up and Play buttons

  1. Turn the speaker on.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Play buttons for 3 seconds until the unit turns off.

Method 4: Holding the Volume Up and Bluetooth buttons

  1. Turn the speaker on.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Bluetooth buttons for 10-15 seconds. The speaker will typically power cycle, indicating the reset is complete.
