What is Roku TV?

Before we jump into the how-to, let's clarify a few things to understand the setup better. Your smart TV connects to the internet to stream digital content, use apps, and even connect to other devices like a speaker or headphones via Bluetooth. Roku TV builds on this by embedding Roku's platform directly into the TV. It works a little differently than Chromecast®, Amazon FireTV Stick®, or Apple TV®, which are streaming devices you connect to your TV.

How to connect your AirPods to your Roku TV

Make sure to check your Roku TV model, as not all models support Bluetooth connectivity. If yours doesn’t, you may need a Bluetooth transmitter that connects to your TV's audio output. You can find these at your local electronics store or online.

Connecting your AirPods to a Roku TV involves a few simple steps:

1. Open the lid of your AirPods case with the AirPods inside, then press and hold the Setup button on the back of the case until the status light flashes white.
2. With your AirPods in pairing mode, go to the Settings menu on your Roku TV.
3. Select Remotes & devices > Pair Bluetooth device.
4. Your Roku TV will start searching for nearby devices. Once your AirPods appear on the screen, select them to pair.
