Cox Mobile Partners with Asurion to Provide Device Protection and Trade-in Services for New Phone Service

January 6, 2023 — Cox Mobile, the new mobile phone service by broadband company Cox Communications, has selected global tech care leader Asurion to provide device protection and trade-in services for its wireless customers.

In keeping with Cox’s vision to provide a simple, flexible and reliable mobile experience, customers enrolled in a Cox Mobile Protection Plan can enjoy the convenience of same-day device replacement or cracked screen repair delivered to their doorstep if their device is damaged, lost, stolen or malfunctioning past its warranty period. Customers can also visit one of the 750+ uBreakiFix® by Asurion or Asurion Tech Repair & Solutions™ stores nationwide for fast, on-site cracked screen repair through their protection plan coverage. Protection plan customers even have access to free tech support via Asurion’s network of Experts.

“At Cox Mobile, we know accidents happen, even to the most careful phone owners,” said Rich Helfrich, Assistant Vice President of Mobile Devices at Cox Communications. “Dealing with a cracked screen or a lost phone shouldn’t have to be a hassle. With a Cox Mobile Protection Plan, customers have peace of mind knowing that if something unexpected happens, they can be back up and running as soon as the same day with Asurion’s repair and replacement options.”

In addition to device protection, Asurion will also administer Cox Mobile’s trade-in program, allowing customers to save on a new device when they trade in their old one. With more than 20 years of supply chain expertise, Asurion’s systems allow for a simple trade-in experience that delivers maximum value to customers, with some devices fetching up to $500+ in credit toward a new phone.

To be eligible for trade-in, the phone must have an IMEI visible on the phone or in its settings, must be fully paid for, must not appear on any banned lists, and iPhones must have Find My iPhone turned off. All trade-in devices are sent to Asurion’s global logistics center, which processes millions of devices each year, and customer data is securely wiped upon device receipt.

“After careful evaluation of many companies, we’re delighted to partner with Asurion on protection and trade-in programs that put customers first and align with our vision to provide options that fit every budget and lifestyle,” Helfrich said.
