Asurion, the recognized global leader in technology protection, is today announced as the Presenting Sponsor of the Teach For America Summer Academies, which will bring high-quality summer education to 1,000 high-need students and training opportunities for 115 teachers in Nashville.

Our employees have embraced the value of the program across the board and collectively have volunteered over 900 hours of tutoring in Teach For America classrooms,” said Tony Detter, chairman of Asurion’s Compassion Forward philanthropic efforts and senior vice president of global products. “Asurion is proud of the difference Teach For America is making in the lives of students around the country, and we are thrilled to support the organization in Nashville as the Presenting Sponsor of the Summer Academies.”
Teach For America is a non-profit organization that recruits professionals and top college graduates to commit to teach in high-need classrooms and become lifelong advocates in the movement for educational equity. The Summer Academies program will be staffed by veteran Metro School educators, along with Teach For America corps members training to begin teaching in local classrooms in the fall.

The Summer Academies are open to all Metro Nashville students entering grades one to five, or eight to 12.
