Asurion is a certified Great Place to Work

Asurion Great Place to Work Blog

At Asurion, we look forward to coming to work every day. It may sound clichéd – but just ask any employee.

For example, Anthony Hughes, who's worked at Asurion for five years. “Coming to work at Asurion was the best career move I've ever made."

And then there's Brandi Smith, an Operations Director in Nashville: “I love my job! Every day I get to work with amazing people who support me professionally and personally."

According to a recent survey, 92% of Asurion employees say they're proud to tell others they work here. And we're even prouder to say that for the third year in a row we're a certified Great Place to Work®! Great Place to Work is a national certification based on ratings provided by employees through anonymous surveys. It's one of several top workplace recognitions we've received in 2019. Life at Asurion

Good ideas can come from anyone

Opportunity at Asurion 2

We believe good ideas can come from anyone, anywhere, not just the corner office. That's why we host an annual hackathon - where employees step away from their day jobs to come up with new ideas to better our company. Taking risks is encouraged, and it pays off!

Hackathon teams present their ideas to leaders like our Chief Operations Officer, Chief Security Officer, Chief Analytics Officer, and others. Top teams win cash prizes and tech devices and often see their pitches turned into reality.

John Redican works as an Operations Manager, and he sees the growth he's made both personally and professionally during his time at Asurion. “I love working at Asurion because the company consistently invests in all of us," said John. “I get a chance to grow as a person and a leader, while having opportunities to inspire others. It's like no other organization. And, that opportunity is here for all of us!"

commUnity for all

Asurion Great Place to Work Diversity

Through commUnity, our diversity and inclusion initiative, we've created a culture where employees are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work. Our 10 employee resource groups (ERGs) focus on bringing our employees together for mentorship, professional development, support and volunteerism.

“Diversity is very important to me," said Osmar Blanco, Customer Solutions Senior Director. “I have come to learn the unstoppable power of a diverse, caring, creative team. And that is truly what we are – a diverse team in all senses of the word. We care about our customers, our product, our company and each other."

Take time for you

Asurion Great Place to Work Flexibility 1

We empower our team members to manage their work-life balance with a flexible approach to time in the office and days off. Leaders value good work, not how many hours you're at your desk.

“We have a really great work-life balance," said Emma Howie, member of the Product Content Team. “It's definitely not a [place where you] clock in at 8 a.m. and you have to leave at 5:30 p.m. Get your work done and people will trust you."

We have an unlimited time-off program, meaning that exempt employees simply work with their leader for time out of the office. In the Great Place to Work survey, 91% of our employees said they're able to take time off from work when they think it's necessary.

Supporting the communities we call home

Asurion Great Place to Work Community

From solving tech problems for customers to volunteering within our communities, helping others is in our DNA. That's why we encourage employees to serve their communities with a flexible volunteer policy that includes designated days where we volunteer together as a team.

The Marketing team, for example, includes a department-wide community service outing as part of their annual strategy meeting in Nashville. Teams engage in activities such as sorting book donations, helping immigrants learn English, completing a Make-A-Wish celebration and so much more.

“It was a great way to start the day," said Lauren Cash, Marketing team member. “We spent the morning tutoring adult ESL immigrants and then went on to our global town hall after. I've never worked for a company that encourages you to volunteer during work hours, but I love it."

Culture of recognition

It's great to be recognized for doing a good job, but at Asurion, we take that to the next level. Our recognition program gives employees the opportunity to recognize team members with points that can be redeemed for gift cards, travel or merchandise. Our employees like to give just as much as they receive. In fact, in 2019, we were named to the 50 Most Engaged Workplaces list by Achievers. It recognizes top employers that display leadership and innovation in engaging their workplaces.

Powered by people

Asurion Great Place to Work People

According to the Great Place to Work certification, the words our employees use to describe working at Asurion most frequently are people, culture and team. We're powered by people who take pride in taking care of customers, and that helpfulness is on display every day in every single one of our office locations.

“It makes me feel really good," said Belle McKnight, an Asurion Expert. “I'm a helper; I love helping and I love what I do. I feel accomplished when I help resolve people's tech problems."
