Computerworld lists Asurion as one of 100 best places to work in IT

Asurion is a great place to work – and we’ve got the recognition to prove it. The latest honor to validate our unique and rewarding culture is being ranked #14 among large organizations on Computerworld’s 2018 100 Best Places to Work in IT. What sets the companies on this list apart from the competition? The way they value, empower and challenge their tech employees and offer professional growth, all while extending to them benefits and compensation that allow them to enjoy both fulfilling work and personal lives. This says a lot about the strength of our tech team – made up of more than 500 employees – and spotlights the impressive outcomes they achieve. It also reflects on our innovative culture, something all of our employees value and help to foster and grow.

A focus on innovation is especially important to Asurion’s tech employees. We’re always looking toward the future, innovating rapidly so we can solve big problems for our customers. Our product development is driven by collaboration, not compartmentalization, and we recognize that great ideas can come from anyone, anywhere. We host multiple company-wide Hackathons each year where employees of all levels collaborate to come up with innovative ideas to improve our customer and employee experience. Over 47 teams have participated in the past two years, with several winning ideas in implementation.

Asurion also has what we call “journey teams,” which brings together cross-functional employees from product, design and technology, empowering them to ask the question, “How do we focus on what’s best for the customer experience?” They are encouraged to fully explore the best possible solutions to drive improvements, and are entrusted to make decisions.

Our highest priority initiatives for 2017 and 2018 are cloud-based, providing our employees opportunities to work with leading edge technology. We invest heavily in our people, giving them opportunities to broaden their cloud-related skills through growth work assignments, obtaining certifications or participating in key cloud technology conferences and summits.

A focus on everyday leadership

Another thing that motivates our tech employees? Asurion’s management style. We seek to foster an environment where titles aren’t important and employees consider themselves part of a network, not a hierarchy. This leads to more collaboration, and more opportunities for leaders to provide real-time feedback to assist their team members growth and development.

Most importantly, we value results over the number of hours spent in the office. Our “no policy” time off policy means that salaried employees are not limited in paid time off and simply work with their leader to schedule their time off. This environment allows our tech team to flourish, giving them to time to enjoy life outside of work so when they’re working, they’re able to focus on the tasks at hand. We work hard, but we celebrate and show our gratitude often.

We also are committed to a leadership-driven culture of inclusion that unifies employees with common interests for networking, mentorship, problem solving and volunteerism. We do this through our Employee Resource Groups, which work to ensure that all employees feel valued and feel they can be themselves while at work.

Asurion has over 16,000 employees in 53 locations around the world, with our global headquarters in Nashville, TN. Click here for career opportunities.
