Claro, one of Peru’s largest mobile phone services providers, and Asurion, a world leader in technology protection services, have partnered to launch Mobile Protection, which will provide device protection for customer’s mobile devices on post-paid plans. Customers enrolled will get a replacement device in the event theirs is stolen, damaged or malfunctions.

Mobile Protection service is initially available in Lima, however it will be enabled soon at national level. On average, customers will pay between S /. 18 and S /. 45 per month depending on the value of their device. Other features of the new service of protection include:
- Broad coverage: The product includes protection against physical damage (including water damage), theft, and electrical or mechanical failure.
- Quick replacement: Customers can report their claim in a fast and easy way and obtain a replacement device.
- Cost savings: Claro customers are spared paying the high full retail price of replacing their device. Instead, those enrolled pay a deductible based on the value of the device and the peril type.
